Current Competition

2020 Research as art exhibition and competition
submissions accepted through november 20th, 2020

ArtSci Oregon is soliciting submissions for a 2020 “Research as Art” virtual gallery exhibition and competition. This online event will showcase current University of Oregon research, emphasizing aesthetics to foster broader community discussion of the foundational work ongoing in Eugene. This year both images and videos from your research will be accepted through November 20th here.

All current University of Oregon researchers, at any level, are encouraged to submit their work. A panel of distinguished judges representing the local science and art communities will evaluate the pieces on aesthetics and scientific merit and winners will be announced by Zoom on December 14th at 7pm. Prizes will be mailed to the winners after the 14th. We look forward to seeing your work!

Current Exhibit

2019 Research as art exhibition AT the EUGENE AIRPORT
December 1st - june 1st

The 2019 Research as Art Exhibition is a collection of 50 research images from scientists at the University of Oregon. Representing work from across all science departments, this exhibit is currently on display at the Eugene Airport. Located in the bridge between security and the terminal, the exhibit will be on display through the beginning of 2020.

Learning adobe illustrator workshops

In April 2020, we hosted beginner and advanced workshops in collaboration with UO Postdoc Association to teach Adobe Illustrator to researchers. We plan to offer these workshops again — let us know if you’d be interested!

2019 Research as art exhibition
AT OAKSHIRE BREWING PUBLIC HOUSE
October 24th - november 26th

The premier of the 2019 Research as Art exhibition opened with a reception at Oakshire Brewing Public House October 24th 2019, from 6-8 pm. During the reception, a panel of distinguished judges representing the local science and art communities evaluated the printed pieces on aesthetics and scientific merit and chose four awardees.

This event was generously supported by the University of Oregon Institute of Neuroscience, Oakshire Brewing, and Nikon Instruments.
